Renew your PR card
with your residency days
checked first
Before you renew, you should know where you stand on the residency obligation. I calculate your days, organize your travel history and prepare your renewal carefully, including for frequent travellers and truck drivers.
$85 consultation, credited toward your fee if you hire me. Or call 873‑673‑8394.

RCIC‑IRB: licensed to represent you from application to the Immigration and Refugee Board
Not every consultant holds this licence. It means I prepare your file to the standard a tribunal would expect. Verify licence R707626.
Renewal is simple until your travel history isn't
- Not knowing whether you meet 730 days in the last 5 years
- Long or incomplete travel histories
- Time outside Canada for work that may or may not count
- Urgent travel plans with an expired card
What I do instead
- Calculate your residency days before anything is filed
- Organize every absence from your records
- Assess whether any exception for time abroad may apply
- Advise on timing, including if you need to travel

Common questions
What is the residency obligation?
Permanent residents generally must be physically present in Canada for at least 730 days in every 5 year period. The days do not need to be continuous.
Does time outside Canada for work count?
Usually not, but there are limited exceptions, for example in some cases of full time employment with a Canadian business outside Canada. Whether one applies depends on your exact situation and must be assessed carefully.
Should I apply for citizenship instead?
If you are eligible, citizenship may make more sense than renewing. I check both in the consultation.
My card expired and I am outside Canada. What now?
You may need a permanent resident travel document to return. Contact me before you book travel.
Can you guarantee approval?
No licensed consultant can. Decisions are made by IRCC. I promise careful preparation and honest advice.
