MY RECENT EXPERIENCING OF TRAVELLING FROM MONTREAL, CANADA TO DELHI, INDIA
For me, I had taken a flight from Montreal to Toronto and then to New Delhi via Air Canada. The experience was good. I did my check in at YUL, Montreal Airport. The Air Canada counter associate will do baggage check-in for the Final Destination (Delhi, India) that means your checked bags will reach directly to your final destination. (Note: You can always check the bag tags to see the final destination of the bags ( for any airline) or ask the representative at the counter). The representative will ask you for your
- – Departure form from Canada
- – Fully Vaccination Certificate
- – Air Suvidha Declaration form print out
- – Air ticket
- – Negative RTPCR Report
Once baggage were checked in and boarding passes were issued, I boarded the flight and reached Toronto. At Toronto Airport, you would have to walk a lot to reach your departure gate at Toronto Airport. Once boarded there, the flight went smooth and I reached to my final destination India.
At New Delhi Airport, presently you are exempt to do on arrival RTPCR test. You will first pass the immigration check and then all you need to do is to follow signage for Baggage Area. Once you collect your bags, you would have to pass from Indian Customs and afterwards, you will be out from Gate 4 or 5.
COMING BACK TO CANADA
In order to travel back to Canada, I carried my PR Card along with my passport ( if you are on work permit, make sure to carry your original work permit and letter from employer -if employed, for students, they need to carry all their file with visa letter, for visitors- their stamped passport).
Make sure to book your Covid RTPCR Test online prior to your arrival at the airport. Trust me and you will thank me later.
You will have to reach the T3 Bridge Crossing ( The Metro Building) at delhi airport for your COVID -19 RTPCR Test
You can check the following video to have the visuals of the Airport to know the exact location of the testing.
Youtube Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PlfVMs9BPM
I have booked an online RAPID RTPCR test prior to my arrival, Once the test is done, you will get your results with in an hour – if booked for RAPID, otherwise for normal RTPCR, it may take 6-8 hours for the test results to come.
Click here to book your Covid Test from Delhi Airport.
You need to carry the print out of your test report, which you can have from the Gate 8 at International Departures. Please note, if you go inside, you wont be able to come back.
After receiving my test results print out, I stand in the queue for Air Canada Counter, the lady checked the following things before handing over my boarding pass.
- – Status documents in Canada
- – Air Ticket
- – Covid 19 Test Results
- – Fully Vaccination Certificate
- – Arrive CAN APP Print out
On my arrival to Montreal Airport, the Airport was really busy. There you need to go to Kiosk machine and declare your declaration. The machine will give you a print out which you need to carry to the Immigration Officer.
The Immigration Officer will take your passport and put a blue sticker. If there is no mark there, you are exempt from On Arrival Covid Test, However, if there is a mark on that blue sticker, you will be asked to do a On Arrival Covid Test.
Luckily, I was not chosen for the test and I reached my final destination smoothly.
I hope you like the information provided in this post.
Thank you and kind regards,
